Early Time-Off
December 29, 2006To All Employees,
We are scheduling an early time-off today to give our employees (who are going to spend the New Year and the holidays out-of-town) ample time for travel and celebrate the holidays meaningfully. Employees may leave our work place 2PM today except those on duty for our plant operations.
Good luck, may we all enjoy a blessed and prosperous New Year!
This email came this morning from our President, Chairman and CEO (yes, this title is for one person only). Buti pa sila nagsi-uwian na…ako nandito pa…haayy…sarap maging sys ad.
Christmas obligations
December 27, 2006As the cliche goes "Its not how much you give, but how much love you put into giving".
Bulcrap.
Apart from food, booze and raffle prizes, another thing I am excited about Christmas parties is exchanging gifts! For our monito-monita, one of the guys thought of putting up a WISH LIST. Just in case you haven't had one of these yet, a wish list is a list (paulit ulit ba? paulit ulit ba?) where you put in stuff you want to receive as gifts. It was a pretty good idea, since most of us don't want to be hassled with going around SM 300 times just to look for something your monita eventually would hate or already has. Minimum amount was Php 300. Some wrote CDs of their favorite band (JM: stalker ng HALE), Shirts with the exact description and BRAND (saktong sakto!) some even put stuff that costs more than Php300! So, what I put on the list was some DVD titles (sabi ko kahit pirated para madami. Hehehe. 300 dibaydybay 50 = 6 DVDs! Panalo!) or a card reader. Every single day I visit the other IT room, I remind everybody of the stuff I want.
At the party, I was expecting to go home with any of those two on my bag happily singing "jingle balls".
Have you ever been in a situation where you just have to smile but your lips won’t cooperate?
Karls, if you’re reading this, you are my friend and I love the PILLOW dude, but I can’t sleep on it thinking I should've had the card reader!
But I forgave him (after a few years! Hehehe) because he was on training the whole week and didn’t have the chance to look at the wish list. (eyes twitching…) I have to be considerate and all since it’s the Christmas season, the time to forgive. (eyes twitching harder…)
Constant whining has its benefits.
After days and days of ranting, my wife gave me the damn card reader for Christmas. Plus the Adidas bag I was expecting her to give me on my birthday. I am that demanding. In return, I gave her her own digicam for Christmas. A Canon A420 so that she won’t borrow mine anymore. Habit number 4: Think win-win.
Christmas is the time of giving and with that, it’s the receiving part I like better!
Chances
December 21, 2006Tingnan mo nga naman, there were 8 raffle prizes from our department's christmas party last night, we're only 11 on our group, kasama pa ako sa hindi nabunot! : (
hindi naman ako umuwing luhaan…hehehe…masaya kasi ako sa mga kinalabasan ng mga pics. I used the full 800 ISO (pwera na lang sa malapitan na kuha, adjust ako ng 200-400) and 1/10 f3.5 settings with flash. Yes, there were noise on the pics, but the room was so dark! What choice do I have? Most turned out looking natural and action shots were good, nagsasayawan na lahat ng tinamaan ng ilaw ni miguel (Sanmig "light", NYE)
Mabalik tayo sa raffle… kung sabagay, mas swerte din ako sa game of chance na ito kasi nung company christmas party namin, there were 52 raffle prizes and there were 221 registered participants. Nanalo ako ng EXTREM…EXTREM…MAGEC SENG!!!
