Maternal Instinct
January 30, 2007Last Sunday Morning, as I was struggling to get up, Lean hopped in to play on our bed. Being his playful self, he went bouncing and screaming like a normal hyperactive, sugar-shocked (due to chocolate chip cookies) 1 year old. So anyways, the inevitable happened, Lean bounced himself to the edge of the bed and in a split second his mommy dove from 10 feet away and caught Lean right before he fell! Okay, I exaggerated a little, our room isn't that big, Trini dove from the other side of the bed. But the point is, women are so blessed to have that kind of instinct. All I did during that time was shout "Kabayong nahulog!"
As I've read somewhere, a 12 year old girl is already capable of taking care of a little baby! Hell, when I was 12 years old I can't even take care of my hygeine! This trait I envy of women. How I wish I can always be there for my son; to catch him, to defend him, or just be there for him.
By the way, about 70% of Lean's bruises, he got it while I'm the one with him. I don't really "take care" of my son per se, I "play" with him, that's what I do. Or does that count?
